2020 Butch's Blend La Scorie
Milbrandt
The name La Scorie is inspired by the scores left in the earth after the cataclysmic floods known as the Missoula Floods ripped through the Columbia Valley 10,000 year ago. The floods carved the land of the Columbia Valley creating some of the most diverse soil the United States have to offer for viticulture.
The 2020 vintage of the Butch La Scorie is a beautiful blend with fruite foward notes of bing cherry, raspberry, and plum complemented by slight minerality and herbaceous notes. The tannins are silky, yet thorough. This wine is part of our esteemed Butch Blend label, named after our owner, Butch Milbrandt. To honor him, we sought the best grapes in Washington to create a variety of European influenced styles of red blends. The La Scorie is a blend that was inspired from the Rhone region of France.
