2021 SVS Clifton Hill Cabernet Sauvignon
Milbrandt
This wine is bold and ripe, showcasing abundant black fruit flavors such as black currant and black cherry, elegantly accented with notes of spice and vanilla. Sourced from the esteemed Clifton Hill Vineyard, the addition of Merlot and Cabernet Franc softens the robust Cabernet Sauvignon tannins, introducing subtle hints of cranberry and blueberry. The result is a well-rounded, structured wine with a harmonious balance of flavors.

Clifton Hill is located on the western end of the Wahluke Slope with a gentle westerly facing slope, rows are oriented east to west. It is one of the warmer sites, and thus earlier ripening site, within the Wahluke Slope AVA.
Production Notes
Maceration was a combination of pump-over and punch-down, fermentations were conducted by both saccharomyces and non-saccharomyces yeasts to create added complexity in the wine. Lots were pressed off after 12-18 days, and then barreled down while still fermenting. MLF took place in the barrels, the wine was aged in new (64%) and used American and French oak barrels for 26 months.
